Hey, I’m really glad you found your way here and welcome to Travelous Mind!

I’m Denise, 28 years old, wanderer by heart, filmmaker, minimalist, perfectionist and dreamer.

About Travelous Mind

My goal

On Travelous Mind I want to inspire you to do more of what your heart desires and pave your own way in life. No matter if you want to see more of the world or want to free yourself of the things that make you unhappy!

What traveling means to me

Traveling is what has changed me and my life more than anything. It’s challenging, mind-opening, electrifying, scary, exciting. It’s a way if thinking, a way of living, a way of seeing the world. And I’d like to take you with me on the journey that to me makes up life. Mindful travel, seeing the beauties of this world, no matter how simple they are, and cherishing every moment.

On Travelous Mind you will read a lot about self reflection and fulfillment, about love, big life questions and generally: the journey that we call life. Since I have been traveling with a chronic illness called Cystic Fibrosis for approximately 7 years now, I also write about traveling with a chronic illness.

Who is Travelous Mind aimed at?

I am mainly writing for all of you travel-enthusiasts, dreamers, adventurers, globetrotters or those of you who are just plagued by wanderlust. For those who are in need of incitement or inspiration and love to philosophize about life.

I want to show you that there’s a big, wide world out there. That this world is filled with all kinds of beauty.

We just have to be open to noticing and appreciating it.

 Why am I writing this?

Over the past few years I have learned that our lives in fact really aren’t as short as people say (compared to a fruit fly, for example). We just waste so much of our precious time doing things that don’t make us happy and that aren’t worth while. This is the main thing I want anyone to avoid.

“It is not little time that we have, it is a lot of time that we waste.”

And who am I?

My name is Denise, I’m 26 years old, I (usually) live in Düsseldorf, Germany, and have been traveling around Morocco since the beginning of 2017 as a digital nomad, which means that I can work from my laptop while on the road.

My number-one-love? Traveling, definitely, no matter if you’re talking about road trips, backpacking-trips, traveling to a city, camping, clamping or traveling long-term. My passion is to express myself creatively, mainly through videography, photography or writing.

I love to philosophize about the meaning of life and I love to feel free. I’m a minimalist, perfectionist and a heart person. And I’m probably the clumsiest person you will ever meet. 😉

One thing that makes traveling a bit more difficult for me at times is that I have a lung disease called cystic fibrosis. Which isn’t too bad, it just means that I’m dependent on a lot of medicine and some therapy measures and that my health condition can go a bit downhill at times. This though has not kept me from living my dreams or from traveling. On my blog I also share my experiences traveling with a chronic illness, so you can travel in spite of your disease, as well.

How I caught the travel bug

When I was 18 and went on my first camping trip I just fell in love with traveling, with nature, with being on the road and discovering new cultures. On this trip, it was the first time that I experienced the feeling of freedom.

And heck, was that awesome!

A few years later I went on my first Solo-Backpacking trip through Spain and Portugal. From there on I knew that a normal, location-dependent life with a regular 9 to 5-job would never make me happy.

Since the beginning of 2016 I have now been a self-employed videographer and editor (you can check out my videos on my Vimeo-Channel, my Online-Portfolio or my new Youtube-Channel). I also pour my heart and soul into this blog and have been earning my money online with freelance jobs as a video editor and virtual assistant, while traveling around the world since the beginning of this year.

The book

In October 2017, I also published my very first book – through a very exciting and great crowdfunding campaign* that brought together hundreds of people to make this book idea a reality. With my first book, “Life happens for you – Backpacking the world with Cystic Fibrosis*“, I wanted to create another channel to encourage people to follow their own authentic path in life despite, or perhaps because of, certain limitations in life.

And now: Have fun on my travel blog!

Love and namasté,
